There are many excellent resources for gun safety around! If you know of a resource that might be helpful for others, please let us know!
Eddie Eagle – An emphasis on firearms safety that teaches children in pre-K through third grade four important steps to take if they find a gun. These steps are presented by the program’s mascot, Eddie Eagle, in an easy-to-remember format consisting of the following simple rules: STOP! Don’t Touch. Leave the Area. Tell an Adult.
Appleseed – teaching traditional American marksmanship, there is also a focus on younger people and teaching the safety portion alongside.
The Civilian Marksmanship Program – with a mission to teach safety and marksmanship to children and adults!
Sniper Country has an excellent page on “Beginner Firearm Safety, From Safe Storage to Safe Shooting” that also includes a really good resource list. Prepper Pete wants to give a shout-out (and Happy Birthday!) to Derrick for recommending such a helpful resource!
Air Gun Safety is also a very important topic that folks should know about! Prepper Pete wants to give a shout-out to Daniel, a Boy Scout (and Junior Prepper!), who recommended Airsoft Station’s page.
If you’re looking for another resource with a pretty comprehensive list of additional resources, check out American Firearms and their safety corner. Here’s a shout-out to Logan – a Boy Scout (and Junior Prepper) who is earning his Shotgun Shooting badge.
Stay safe and keep prepping!
